Revealing the Local Knowledge of Buru People through Their Weneks

Folk song is a type of oral literature that lives and develops in society, especially rural communities. songs have the power to represent local knowledge community. Therefore, study needed reveal this. This research aims at revealing Buru people contained Buru’s weneks (folk songs). The data are texts (eight weneks) obtained from four informants, namely several village elders as owner songs. qualitative descriptive with an ethnographic approach. were collected through (1) observation, (2) in-depth interviews, (3) recording techniques. analysis procedure was carried out by sorting according findings; reading checking ensure their accuracy; coding letters numbers. findings show represented folk involved traditional medicine; season naming; birds (4) land ownership/ulayat rights; (5) belief People; (6) kinship system. six identity owned, practiced, maintained up this day.
